Bottom drains are essential in any pond.
All the waste material and ammonia settle at the bottom of the bond, thus a suction point is needed to ensure that all waste material is removed and filtered through the mechanical and biological filtration.
Bottom drains also make pond maintenance easier as you should never need to drain the pond to clear out built up waste or sludge in the pond if it is continuously removed mechanically by the filtration.
Liner bottom drains are excellent for fibreglass, plastic or rubber lined ponds that do not have a concrete shell. The lining or shell of the pond is clamped by the flanges to might a water tight seal with the pond
