Description
These are used on ponds that utilize a sump before the pump suction and on gravity filter chambers that use filter brushes. These drains offer superior flow compare to the direct suction drains such as the 50mm bottom drain.
Bottom drains are essential in any pond. All the waste material and ammonia settle at the bottom of the bond, thus a suction point is needed to ensure that all waste material is removed and filtered through the mechanical and biological filtration. Bottom drains also make pond maintenance easier as you should never need to drain the pond to clear out built up waste or sludge in the pond if it is continuously removed mechanically by the filtration.
